From originally 2 varieties we now have more than 33,000 different cocoa varieties cultivated in growing countries around the world. At York Cocoa Works our mission has been to explore these flavours and better understand the influences of the cocoa growing, fermentation, roasting and making process in flavour.
We’re delighted to be able to share our latest creations together with some insights into the tasting process; how to identify different cocoa origins, bean varieties and chocolate recipes. With this tasting set you can embark on your own adventure discovering the unique flavours of cocoa from around the world, and chocolate varieties from across our manufactory.
A guided chocolate tasting journey from your own home, in this set you’ll find cocoa beans, cocoa nibs and cocoa mass for you to try so you can taste the journey of chocolate production. Also included are seven of our delicious handmade chocolate bars in White, Milk and Dark. Our new chocolate tasting guide booklet will you help you get the most out of your chocolate.
