We source our cocoa from farmers and traders working around the world that we feel represent viable and sustainable models for flavour, quality, livelihoods, landscapes and communities.
Seram Island is based in The Molluccas in Indonesia, the area was known as the Spice Islands, due to the highly prized spices that were cultivated on the Islands and brought back to Europe by the traders. The cocoa has been cultivated on the Islands for generations and includes a number of different varieties that have been brought to the Islands over the years. Grown, cultivated and developed together the cocoa has a very creamy flavour, very mild acidity, with notes of spices and dried fruit.
This chocolate has been crafted by our team at our Chocolate Manufactory York Cocoa Works from the finest chocolate making ingredients.
