At York Cocoa Works we are proud to be working with gorgeous fine flavour and unique cocoa varieties from around the world. We are pleased to be able to share our chocolate and our ingredients with others who are keen to enjoy and discover more.
Our Cocoa is all sourced directly from farmers or in collaboration with sourcing partners who take the time, on our behalf, to discover the best flavours and quality beans.
We look forward to sharing more of our cocoa discoveries as seasons change. Please note that some harvests may differ from others, we are keen to explore and share the information we learn, if you have any questions please do not hesitate to ask.
Our Sample Sets of cocoa is a 200g raw representative sample of bean origins we are currently working with. We have not sorted these samples, to ensure that what you receive is representative of the beans you will receive.
We are sourcing regularly so bean varieties will change as some become available while others are of limited supply and may no longer be available. We are able to provide volumes up to 30kg via our own postage and distribution services across Europe. Larger bean volumes are available and will be managed upon request.
Should you wish to order larger volumes of any of our Bean Store Stock we would be happy to assist the connection with direct sourcing partners. Please feel free to arrange your own collection or to join us and collect in person.
Please note that all raw cocoa should be handled with care. We advise that these beans are cooked to at least 100° C and the shells removed before consuming. Please be aware that these beans are sold as provided to us, they may contain broken and double bean material.

Arauquita – Colombia
Grown on the Arauca River bordering Venezuela, where cocoa has been cultivated for over 300 years. We found this cocoa to have a distinctive fruity aroma after roasting that enhanced a zesty, citrus flavour within the chocolate. We've affectionately nicknamed this chocolate as our 'Old Fashioned' since the cocoa had a zesty, bitterness and tones of alcohol that transformed into a deep cocoa aroma.
Please note these beans are provided for chocolate making purposes. We advise that these beans are cooked to at least 100° C and the shells removed before consuming. Please be aware that these beans are sold as provided to us, they may contain broken and double bean material.

Surrounded by snow-capped mountains and glaciers that run into the rainforests below, this cocoa has buckets of potential as it makes both amazing dark and milk chocolate variations.
We advise that these beans are cooked to at least 100° C and the shells removed before consuming. Please be aware that these beans are sold as provided to us, they may contain broken and double bean material.
